20th April 2009
I got to Combe at about 2.30 pm. There was little to no wind and the thermals were pretty small and few and far between. As the day wore on however the thermals developed and it became easier to stay aloft. Not an epic day as far as flight hours were concerned and amounted to about 30mins. It ended when I got caught at the wrong end of the trees and landed on the western ridge. I made a couple of attempts to cross back over but only succeeded in landing at the bottom of the trees. I had a hard walk back to take off but it didn’t spoil the day and in some ways it was quite enjoyable.
